1. Panasonic NI-L70SRW Cordless Iron
Panasonic NI-L70SRW Cordless Iron - 92%
The Panasonic NI-L70SRW is a terrific cordless iron… obviously as it is top of my list, but it really is packed full of features which is why in my opinion this is the best cordless iron on the market in 2020.
First of the soleplate is nonstick, super-smooth and stainless steel that will quickly remove any wrinkles that you will come across with its smartly curved design.
The curved design soleplate will NEVER catch the edge of your fabrics.
Much like the other top cordless models I have reviewed, this Panasonic iron can double up as a vertical steamer.
At the push of a button, you can get full bursts of steam that will remove wrinkles without even taking your clothes off the hanger!
Another selling factor: The removable water tank is a fantastic addition, allowing you to leave the iron on charge while you go and fill up the water tank.
Lastly, I will say if you are used to top-rated Rowenta models you might be a little disappointed in the heat department because It doesn’t get as hot as Rowenta irons usually do.
Overall this iron is a gamechanger and suits everybody’s needs.
- Ideal for quilting, sewing, and crafting
- Smooth stainless-steel soleplate
- Vertical steam feature
- Electronic temperature controls
- Removable water tank
- Not as hot as some of the other irons
So we come to the end of the best cordless steam iron reviews and although the above are all fantastic cordless irons, if you are looking for an iron that produces plenty of steam and really hot sole-plates than a traditional steam iron that is not cordless will probably be better for you.
But if you are happy to lose a bit of steam and heat power for the convenience of not having to mess about with the power cord then one of the above because they are the best cordless irons to buy in 2020.
Cordless irons will be able to remove 95% of wrinkles that you come across but those real stubborn wrinkles, you know the ones that I am talking about, well those ones might be tricky.
If you find yourself coming up against plenty of tough wrinkles I would make sure you purchase a cordless iron that has a vertical steaming feature.
The other main problem with cordless steam irons is they struggle to iron continuously because of the lack of heat they can retain.
Every time you are re-positioning clothes you will need to be putting the iron back on its charging stand for a few seconds to build the heat back up, but once you get used to that it becomes like second nature.
As you can see the cordless iron is a good appliance to have in your household but it has its downsides with clothes ironing if you aren’t using the iron for clothing and you are using it for arts and crafts projects I would recommend you go for a corded iron so you can maintain constant heating without having to mess about.
So at the end of the day I recommend the cordless iron for somebody who is not overly picky about the results because cordless cannot match a traditional iron yet but they still do a good job, I would say the best cordless irons did a job very similar to a garment steamer.
If you understand that you will not be able to get the perfect crisp look using a cordless iron and are happy with the results then it could be a great appliance for your household.
Just remember all cordless irons have to be placed back on their bases very often, which does become second nature to most people.
When you adjust your garment or go to hang a shirt up, just make sure to put the cordless iron back on its base and that will give it enough time to re-heat back up.
It literally only takes seconds with the irons that I have listed above.
Given all that you have learned are you deciding to go cordless?
Here are the scores for you again.
